Halloween II was in theaters for barely two weeks when Dimension Films announced a sequel, a new writer (Todd Farmer), a new director (Patrick Lussier), and a release date of summer 2010.  It seems like pre-production on Halloween 3D was moving a little fast.

Now, it seems like Dimension Films agreed.  Pre-production on the next Michael Myers installment has been stalled and director Lussier is set to begin another project in January.

The producers of the Halloween franchise will likely wait until the director is free before continuing.

In the meantime, Rob Zombie’s Halloween II is currently playing in theaters.
